Where It All Begins

Byramudi Plantations is spread across two locations in Sakleshpur, Udevara and Kanaguppe, where our family has cultivated coffee for decades. Together, these plantations are home to both Arabica and Robusta, and every harvest begins here before making its way to roasting. Coffee has always been more than a crop to us. Caring for the land, understanding the seasons, and growing coffee with patience has shaped the way we think about every cup we share.

Shaped by the Western Ghats

THE LAND

Our plantations lie between 950 and 1,200 metres above sea level in the Western Ghats, one of the world's richest biodiversity hotspots. Cool temperatures, seasonal rainfall, and fertile soils create the conditions that coffee has thrived in for generations. Coffee grows beneath a canopy of Silver Oak and native shade trees, alongside pepper vines that have long been part of the Malnad landscape. This diverse ecosystem supports healthy soil, protects the coffee plants, and allows the cherries to mature gradually through the season.

Coffee Takes Time

THE GROWING SEASON

Every harvest begins months before a single cherry is picked. After the first summer rains, coffee blossoms cover the plantations for just a few days before giving way to small green cherries. Over the months that follow, they slowly ripen, drawing their character from the changing weather, the soil, and the landscape around them. Only when the cherries reach peak ripeness does harvesting begin.

Staying Close to Every Step

FROM HARVEST TO ROAST

Once harvested, the coffee is processed and dried at the plantation before moving on to roasting. Staying involved from harvest onwards allows us to understand each lot of coffee from its very beginning and preserve the qualities developed over an entire growing season.

LOOKING AHEAD

Byramudi Coffee began with the coffee grown on our own plantations. As we continue to grow, we hope to share coffees from other exceptional estates across India while staying true to the same principle that guides us today. To always know where our coffee comes from, respect the people who grow it, and bring it to you with honesty.
